Taylor Swift

posted a picture of herself on Instagram a couple of weeks ago with a quote from E.E. Cummings as her text.

She posted it a day after my successful twitter spree. She must have figured out that Cummings is one of my influences. Clever. Well done, Taylor.

All of the political stuff that’s going on has me reminiscing, and Taylor’s post brought back even more memories. This morning I searched through my archive of old political works and found my copy of Mullins’ Secrets of the Federal Reserve. I have the early edition of the work- the one that Cummings wrote a short introduction to.

Cumming’s intro was very, very different from what you usually see in old conservative works. I didn’t understand it when I first read the book 11 years ago. I think I get it now, though.

I read through some of Mullins’ text too. It’s still interesting but a bit dated, though less so than other conservative works during that time because it isn’t focused on the Soviet.

Oh, how I wish that 20th century conservatives hadn’t focused so much on the Soviet “menace”! The real enemy of our race wasn’t even there! It was here, all along, plotting America’s subversion and eventual subjugation to a financial dictatorship. The NYC crowd was the real threat. The Soviets just wanted to be left alone.

While browsing my archives, I also found my copy of Revilo Oliver’s masterwork America’s Decline: The Education of a Conservative. I’ve been meaning to look something up in Oliver’s tome, but I couldn’t find it.

Unfortunately, I couldn’t find what I was looking for within the book, either. I remember Oliver mentioning somewhere in America’s Decline that an American citizen actually ran the old Soviet Union during the World War II period. That remark stunned me when I read it, but it was said by Oliver, who was the most reliable and level- headed of the great 20th century conservatives. I thought that that fact might be an interesting thing to mention on twitter to someone, and it still would be, except that I don’t know who it was the Oliver was referring to.

Oh well.

Maybe the remark was made in one of Oliver’s other books. The Jewish Strategy, perhaps?  Conspiracy or Degeneracy?  It’s been so long since I’ve read them that I honestly don’t remember.

Wait… what was this post about?

Oh yeah, Taylor Swift. Summer’s coming up so I’ll see her in shorts again. Ummm… good.
