Yet More Disney + Stuff, Part IX

Friday, January 5th, 2024

I was going to talk about other stuff, I swear, lol.

The problem is this intractable illness / flareup. It’s awful, just awful. Swollen ankles, headaches, hearing problems, vision problems, elbow stiffness and swelling, pain in the knees, lethargy, insomnia, etc. It’s a fucking nightmare.

I’m working through it, but Jeebus Christ.

So here I am again, binging more stuff on Disney+.

Finished season 2 of Gargoyles. Holy shit, what an incredible show! Mind blowing. Started strong and finished strong. I hated to watch the last ep of season 2. Not that it was bad, but… you know.

Many, many properties took/copied key ideas straight out of Gargoyles episodes. God knows how many anime properties were inspired by this show, at least in part. The Matrix, Dark City, Star Trek, Star Wars, Marvel and DC properties, dozens of future Disney properties, holy moly. Gargoyles is without a doubt one of the key Sci-Fi shows, although I’ve never heard it referred to as such. I mean, holy shit, they have an episode about “The Matrix”, a nanotech AI who threatens to consume the world, who eventually merges with a martial artist type character!

This show may have inspired cop shows and crime shows and movies as well, IDK. Not too familiar with those.

Hugely underrated show. 10/10.

I also saw Home on the Range and liked it. Not a great movie, but it was fun, and the cast did well in their roles. I can see the kids loving it. I liked the corn-pone, redneck type comedy bits. Those were really enjoyable, since I know that mentality and even indulge in it myself sometimes. Likeable flick that was short enough to not overstay it’s welcome. 3.5/5. Will watch again, someday.

I saw Isle of Dogs. For awhile I was confused by it since it just didn’t look… uhm, “Disney”. I thought…. well, maybe they branched out, lol.

It turns out it was a Wes Anderson movie!

Wut?

And it was stop-fucking-motion!

Holy shitfuck! Ok, stop motion automatically means 3 out of 5, literally. Has there ever been a bad stop-motion movie? Sure, there have been a few formulaic holiday specials and such, but are those truly bad? No, they are just average-ish, at worst.

This is was a well made, interesting, challenging, refreshing movie. It wasn’t perhaps a crowd-pleaser type flick but I’m defo glad I watched it. 4.5/5.

Stop motion is awesome, and I wish we saw more of it.

There are lots of pulpy sci-fi flicks that used stop motion effects back in the 20’s and 30’s and TBH they look pretty nice when viewed today. Maybe that’s just because of the low resolution of the cameras or something but… IDK. I think the effects in a lot of these films look fine.

Maybe it’s because stop motion is real, and CGI just… isn’t. The promise of CGI has not as of yet been fulfilled. It still just looks too cartoonish. Maybe that’s on purpose, IDK. But it still looks like a 2D superimposition on a 3D world. It looks, too often, like it’s… missing something.

Another flick I saw was Melody Time, one of uncle Walt’s pre-Fantasia attempts to blend pure audio and vision together.

This… is an absolutely outstanding movie, easily the best of the three. It’s old Disney, and it has that old Disney magic, which I’m becoming convinced was a real thing. Not one part of this movie is less than stellar.

The reason this film gets a perfect 5/5 and Isle of Dogs doesn’t is because this movie had every quality that made Isle of Dogs great, plus it was highly enjoyable from start to finish.

Also, it’s got the Disney magic. Meaning, the movie is simultaneously super-efficient and whimsical, which is a very difficult trick to pull off.

It’s not quite as potent here as it is in something like Dumbo, which is probably like a 6/5 movie, but Melody Time traverses so much space in it’s 1 hour 17 minute runtime that it feels like it does more than most movies that last two hours or more.

I can see by RT reviews that this is an unpopular opinion, but I sincerely think that old Disney is underrated. People dock a star off of everything old Disney because it’s “kid’s stuff” in their minds, and they do it without noticing.

The animation in Melody Time is absolutely beautiful. Not one frame of this movie looks bad. The music is outstanding and flows well with the visuals, and there is real heart on display. This is art, not product.

It’s from movies like this and Fantasia that we get music videos as an art form. Seriously- Disney invented the music video as we know it today. Does he get credit? Nope.

This is a 5/5 movie for sure.

I noticed that nu-Disney slapped one of their dumb “advisories” on this movie. I have never not cringed when seeing these. Not at the movie, but at the poor numbskull who put it there.

Reading these “helpful messages” in akin to watching some pink haired sociology undergrad scrawl some incoherent screed decrying racial “microaggressions” on a post-it note affixed to the door of the Sistine Chapel. It makes me feel sorry- for the undergrad.

Messages like this made me think that the people running the show over there now aren’t really, IDK, worthy, of their jobs. It’s an odd feeling, but there you go.

Man, I really need to get over this sickness, lol.

But srsly.

In a way these… I don’t know, advisories? Are a good way to understand how Disney has so horribly lost it’s way as a company.

Look at box office receipts, I mean. True, Disney had financial successes lately- notably, Avatar II, and GOTG III. But neither of these was “Disney” and neither was representative of the kind of product Disney makes today. Avatar II is a James Cameron film, not a Disney flick. People saw it because of Aliens, True Lies, Terminator 2, Titanic, The Abyss, and Avatar, not because of Mickey Mouse. And GOTG is the “non-woke” Marvel property.

Disney stuff these days is way way too strongly identified with woke-ism. This was a massive problem 6 years ago, but now it’s gotten so out of control even the MSM has been forced to talk about it.

The canary in the coal mine here definitely was the race-swapped Little Mermaid adaptation. And I know what Disney was thinking with that one- they wanted to “spark a conversation”. Well, boy oh boy, did they ever, lol. I liken it myself as the Last Jedi moment to the Disney brand. It was the moment in which the common man took a look around himself and actually started to think about what they were consuming for the first time. And nu-Disney hasn’t recovered since.

I’ve already dissected wokeness ad nauseum on here, so I won’t say too much more about it, but I will say that it’s overstayed it’s welcome for sure. I remember those news articles about the completely empty theaters in China showing The Little Mermaid. The movie did negative business in China, I think taking home some odd millions in hatewatch revenue for tens of millions spent in advertising. This stuff is never ever going to fly in the Chinese market, ever. Not in our lifetimes at least.

It’s an impossible problem to solve. Hollywood needs Asian dollars, but Asia doesn’t like “woke”, and really doesn’t like race-swapping, ever. It’s like they have an in-built allergy to it. Their markets are much much more resistant to race-swapping characters than Western ones.

The new Captain America movie with the black Captain America is going to bomb, nuclear style, in the Asian market. It will not go over at all. I’m calling it now. The Chinese are not going to show up. And, possibly, nobody else will, either.

Disney could lose a LOT of money with this movie. Like epic, historical amounts. Company destroying amounts, perhaps.

Found that article…

https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/movies/movie-news/box-office-the-little-mermaid-gets-doused-in-china-south-korea-after-racist-backlash-1235505682/

I’ll put the first five paragraphs here…

—————————————

The Little Mermaid is getting doused in select foreign markets amid a racist backlash over the casting of Black actress Halle Bailey in the role of Ariel.

The movie has grossed a mere $3.6 million in its first 10 days of release in China, by far the worst showing among Disney’s live-action adaptations. It is also struggling badly in South Korea, where it has earned $4.4 million through June 4. Sources close to the movie, as well as box office analysts, say Disney knew Little Mermaid could face challenges, but is surprised by the extent of the backlash and its impact.

The social media outcry over Bailey’s casting has been particularly vociferous in both markets. Sources believe this has resulted in unverified audience reviews bashing the movie. In South Korea, such reviews have even made headlines.

Negative audience reviews have also populated social media in China. And just before the film opened in that country, the government-affiliated The Global Times ran an editorial lambasting Disney’s motives.

“The controversy surrounding Disney’s forced inclusion of minorities in classic films is not about racism, but its lazy and irresponsible storytelling strategy,” stated the op-ed. “Many Chinese netizens said that like Snow White, the image of the mermaid princess in Hans Christian Andersen’s fairy tales has long been rooted in their hearts and it takes a leap of imagination to accept the new cast.”

—————————————

Yeah, they’re going to be in trouble, lol. I can see the Disney execs now, sweating in their sleep, praying to God, Vishnu, Satan, The Flying Spaghetti Monster and maybe even J. R. “Bob” Dobbs from the Church of the SubGenius to help them break even with the new Captain America movie, lmao.

The risks they’ve been taking with the wokeisms and the race swapping were much greater than they understood, that’s for sure. And that probably goes for all studios, not just Disney.

Well, this was fun, but I need to turn in.

In my case, I’m not watching anything made post 2016, excepting in very rare circumstances. That way I avoid much of this foolishness, lol.

Yet More Disney + Stuff, Part VIII

Thursday, December 28th, 2023

Well, Christmas has come and gone… wasn’t feeling too good so I stopped blogging and stuff. I think I’m on the mend tho, however slow that might be in coming. I’ll probably be sick for awhile TBH. Yuck.

Episode 7 of KP season 4 is Ariana Grande, obviously. It’s in the name. The interesting question here isn’t that, but whether it’s also Victoria and Elizabeth. I think it is. So it’s really more “Victorious” than only Ariana.

Ep 8 is defo Bridgit Mendler. No doubt, this one was easy peasy lemonade mouth squeezy.

Ep 9 is Miley Cyrus with a side of Miranda May. And… Emma Stone? Is that even possible?

Ep 10 is obviously Sierra McCormick.

For the longest time I was wondering where Olivia Holt would show up. Then it hit me- Kim Possible is Olivia! Really- the parallels between Kim Possible and Kim Crawford (Holt’s character in Kickin’ It) are as plain as the back of my hand. The names, obvs. But also other stuff.

But- I’m also Kim. Kim Possible, Ron Stoppable, Kim Crawford, Tom Jacobsen. So interesting.

It is just me, or did Kim Possible the series borrow some visual style from an old Christmas cartoon, The Candlemaker? Because I think it did. Actually I’m 99% sure of it, and if I’m right, that would confirm again my Ron Stoppable = Tom Jacobsen hypothesis, since there is a child character in that cartoon named “Tom” that has his own Rufus. Fascinating.

Well, it’s at this point where I kinda wish I had another streaming service, lol. I mean I have Minnie Mouse coming out of my fucking ears here. But honestly tho- it’s just so damn interesting.

I guess I’ll continue to pick apart this stuff. One day I might get into an in depth discussion of all the symbolism, references, and hidden messages in Laura Marano’s stuff- her movies, music etc. That might be one hell of a journey.

Well, I’m off to rest now.

Yet More Disney + Stuff, Part VII

Monday, December 18th, 2023

Fifth episode is Debby Ryan. I caught this before the title song came on.

Sixth? IDK, haven’t seen it. But, based on the title- Mad Dogs and Aliens– I’m going with… Meg Donnelly. I guess we’ll see.

Other stuff… I watched an episode of Recess yesterday. Recess is… a hard show to watch, sometimes. It’s just… too accurate. The other shows on Disney+ that I watch have tended to be stylized extrapolations of things I’ve done and seen. Recess isn’t so much that. There is style and fantasy to it, but there is a ton of reality, too, much more in fact than in any other show I’ve even seen about me.

It’s just… very real. It’s uncanny. The details are so precise, and so true to life in so many aspects. The school faculty, the students, the school itself, the playground behind it, the situations the characters get into… it’s too accurate, too true to life. Even the names are accurate. That school in Recess was Gurnee Grade School, there is absolutely no doubt about it.

It was so perfectly recreated that I don’t get mere flashbacks watching Recess. Watching it, I can actually feel the feeling on my hands of the metal on the old monkeybars. I can smell the wood flooring- something I haven’t done since, well, I left. It’s incredible.

I’m taking that series very slowly, one episode at a time, working through it and digesting everything. It’s an amazing experience. Something like this is probably unique. Honestly, I doubt anyone in history has ever felt the feeling that I feel watching this show. It’s just… I don’t even know. It’s like there literally aren’t words to express this situation properly.

Well, it’s interesting on more levels than just that, too. The experiences depicted in Recess were things I lived back in the 80’s. That is a long time ago, and I think we can assume that the surveillance technology that allowed all of this to come to life has been expanded and refined very considerably since then. Perhaps that would be the disturbing aspect to all of this.

But as for the show itself, I like it. That it’s a hard watch does not mean it’s a bad one. It’s a good show, when judged objectively. It really is.

It’s just… different, I guess. For me, if for no one else.

As for the school itself- it no longer exists. It was torn down 10 years ago for financial reasons. It’s a real shame. There was history there. Real history, far far more than what people realized. Really- that school should have been declared a historical site. Many places have been for far less.

Well… time moves on, I suppose.

Even for me.

Fourth episode of season 4?

Zendaya, easily. I caught this one… oh, I don’t know, somewhere in the first 1 or 2 minutes.

This one was really easy, really obvious.

About halfway in they graciously confirmed my suspicions for me by obtusely namechecking Zendaya’s Disney flick Zapped.

Ok, well, that was easy.

What was really interesting about this episode was a scary-ish throwaway bit during the last thirty seconds.

It was during the credits. I heard the name “Olivia” and then I went “A-HA!” because I was sure, absolutely sure, I was going to see something about Olivia Holt. Or, at least, Dove Cameron (middle name – Olivia).

Nope. The girl I saw as “Olivia” was, scarily enough, Olivia fucking Rodrigo.

Yes, the Driver’s License chick. Vampirella. That chick that was on SNL a few days ago.

I was floored. Or, at least, as floored as I could be, since I was watching on my bed at the time. But, Goddamn.

I went back and checked two, three times. Yup, there is no doubt, no doubt about who they are referring to there with “Olivia”.

People, Olivia Rodrigo was three years old when this episode aired.

Seriously. This was a Valentine’s Day episode that aired Feb. 10, 2007. Rodrigo was born Feb. 20, 2003.

I do like how they worked her in there, though. During the Laura Marano episode they also worked in Camilla Belle edgewise.

Interesting stuff, this.

Yet More Disney + Stuff, Part V

IDK, some casual watching has given me some new weird, um, facts, I guess, to think about.

IDK, this might be a short one.

Some random stuff… I kinda thought this before but a rewatch of The Goddess of Spring has confirmed it- Elle Fanning’s Princess Aurora was based on this character, at least in looks (If not Elle Fanning herself, TBH. But we won’t go there, at least not yet).

What I didn’t expect upon a rewatch was to see Liv Rooney’s bed poster! Ah, lol. The Disney-verse. Will you ever be not surprising?

Also- upon finishing The Goddess of Spring, I noticed that it was one of Disney’s Silly Symphony line of cartoons. To let that sink in, I said the name a few times out loud- Silly Symphony, Silly Symphony. What does that sound like?

Stefanie Scott, of course! Disney Princess, Stefanie Scott- the one I mentioned on here before that they used to parade around in the middle of Disney World in a Cinderella-type Pumpkin chariot. Silly Symphony… Stefanie Scott. Silly Symphony Stefanie Scott. Silly-Scott, Symphony-Stefanie. Not only do the names share initials, they share the same number of syllables in each word, and even number of characters in the words.

To me, this is absolutely fascinating as hell, if not a little eerie. Yet another in the long long list of one-in-a-million coincidences I’ve noticed while browsing Disney+.

All other things considered I find it mindblowing in and of itself that I’ve been dating Stefanie for over a dozen years now and am still dredging up stuff in her past that throws me off balance. Holy moly, lol. Uh… Good job, Stefanie? Is that the appropriate reaction to this?

IDK.

Speaking of Steffy being paraded around DW, I think I mentioned that fact in a middle of a fentanyl induced haze a couple of years ago, which reminds me of the movie Ben is Back (feel free to search archives on that title) starring another GF, Kathryn Newton.

Uh, well, I just finished watching The Liberty Story and could not help but notice that the animated short Ben and Me in The Liberty Story seems to have some odd parallels with Ben is Back, bizarrely. The similarities are well hidden but they are there in fact are striking if you look hard enough. Kinda… wut?

Is this stuff all some weird fever dream I cooked up on allergy meds when I was a kid or something?

I saw all of these old Disney cartoons when I was a kidlet. I saw them all on Disney channel and on VHS. Did I just… imagine all of this stuff, all of these people, everything, into being? You know, during my many many childhood daydreams?

Stuff to think about, I guess.

Yet More Disney + Stuff, Part IV

Sunday, December 10th, 2023

Ok um… I think that episode 3 of season 4 is about Britt Robertson. I wasn’t expecting that but… it makes sense. I’m like 95% sure on this one.

Very interesting for sure.

Whaaaaaat, lol.

Well, I think that the spy stuff in KP is somehow triggering me, lol. It’s like… I need to look for clues after I watch an ep. I mean, who wouldn’t?

You know- I was thinking earlier today that I’ve been brooding a lot these last few years. Of course I’ve needed to, since I was recovering from a horrible illness, an equally horrible injury, and a lot of other stuff, but, I’ll be honest, it’s becoming somewhat… tiresome. It’s getting boring TBH.

I think that next year I’ll make some needed changes to my daily routine. Like, change it up a little. Or maybe a lot. IDK; we’ll see I guess.

Uhm, in other Disney+ news, I’ve been rewatching Gargoyles, Disney’s mid 90’s gothic masterpiece. I haven’t seen it since I was in high school. My God, what an awesome show! I liked it when it first aired but I believe I like it more now. I think that now I understand it.

And of course, seeing anything like this with the benefit of hindsight is always mindblowing.

This is a very, very important series. I can’t count how many things I’ve seen on this show that were later repeated in other properties- Batman movies, Naruto episodes, video games and sooo many other things.

The influence that this series had on anime is blatant. I’ve seen so many things on Gargoyles that inspired parts of Dragonball, Naruto, Bleach etc. that it’s kind of surreal. I swear that even franchises like Ghost in the Shell took inspiration from Gargoyles. It’s really incredible.

I just finished a three-parter in the middle of the second season, about a hidden mystical land called Avalon and the resurrection of King Arthur, and Goddamn, what a masterpiece!

Not one bit of this show is off. It all just flows together, so very well.

Just this little miniseries within a series seems to have inspired a whole truckload of other stuff, including obviously Avalon High, the, um, Britt Robertson movie about the resurrection of Kind Arthur, and, believe it or not, The Last Jedi. I know, I was stunned myself. But I swear to God this three ep series and the one following it gave me serious TLJ flashbacks.

I think it was the “magical ghost lightning hitting the old tree and destroying it” scene that really drove it home to me. I mean, I don’t remember much of TLJ TBH, but man if that didn’t ring a bell. And the old cave and a few other things.

Regardless, this miniseries had it’s share of interesting relationship foreshadowing moments as well. Princess Finella, a dead ringer for Elle Fanning (Finella… Elle Fanning), and Princess Katherine, who reminded me of Katherine McNamara on many occasions.

Seriously, though. I swear that you could swap out Elle Fanning’s Catherine with Princess Finella and nobody would have noticed. And Princess Katherine (McNamara, not Elle’s Catherine) had her scenes in this show re-interpreted by Katherine McNamara, decades later!

Absolutely amazing! This stuff just keeps getting more and more interesting the more I see it.

Avalon also featured a warrior named “Tom” who as fate would have it, falls in love with and marries Katherine! Not McNamara, the show Katherine. The Gargoyles one, not the McNamara ones. Need I say that this miniseries also contained Shadowhunters foreshadowing as well? I swear to God it did, more that once. I think I caught about a half dozen references, myself.

There is also more than one great wizard, and, my gosh, there is just so much here. So much that I can’t list it all. But again, I get the feeling that the people who made this series as well expected me to re-watch it decades later, since 1) This is alluded to several times in the episodes, and 2) it seems to contain advice for current-day great wizard me in the form of dialogue about the wizards!

You could even see this, very blatantly, in the characters of Tom and Katherine. Tom enters the series in the first episodes as a young boy- about the age I was when Gargoyles was created- and re-enters it midway through as a middle aged man, married to Katherine.

On the show, not in real life.

Or maybe both.

Is there even a separation, anymore?

Wowsers. IDK what to even say about this stuff sometimes.

Well, the show aside, even as far back as the early to mid 90’s I think people had my relationships and marriages planned out and organized, literally before I had even stepped into high school. These really are arranged marriages, with all of them seemingly organized by The Walt Disney Company. Or, at least, by the people who control it.

Incredible stuff, this is. Absolutely incredible. The amount of work that must have gone into planning and executing all of this is must have been beyond staggering. Honestly. I’m in awe.

Well… I think I’ve done my part well, thus far, in all of this. At least I would hope so, lol.

Wow, though.

Incredible.

Yet More Disney + Stuff, Part III

Sunday, December 10th, 2023

Wha?????? Ok, holy fuck lol.

I swear to God there isn’t a day of casually surfing Disney+ that doesn’t leave me absolutely floored by something.

It took about two minutes into the second episode of the fourth season of Kim Possible for me to be fully convinced that it was entirely about Laura Marano, since her symbolism was stuffed into every scene, both covertly and overly. It was just so blunt and obvious.

Shocking, and absolutely incredible. The first ep was about Kelli Berglund, and the second is about Laura Marano. It doesn’t take much to notice the pattern.

I wonder who the third episode will be about.

Where will Selena Gomez be? Olivia Holt? Sabrina Carpenter?

Stay tuned!

Speaking of Laura, I’m just… gobsmacked, I guess, about a lot of… things I’ve seen and realized about… all of this.

She’s not who she appears to be.

Well, I need to parse out at least some of this very confusing issue, so here goes.

Her public persona, which I do not buy for an iota of an instant, is that of a struggling, label-less independent artist. This… is not who she is. It’s an act. She’s I think an insider’s insider, and probably a Disney princess type of the old fashioned kind. IDK what she actually does during the day when she’s not out pretending to be down on her luck, but I would be curious to find out, that’s for sure.

She’s at minimum established Hollywood and established Disney, but she’s clearly much more than that. IDC what the viewcounts say on her youtube channel.

She was signed to Taylor Swift’s label at one point and had a monster hit with “Boombox”- and then the story goes that she was dropped soon after for some strange reason. I think the more realistic scenario is that she left voluntarily. Part of the act.

At one point I did a search on Tubi for “Vanessa Marano” and got something like ten movies, all featuring Laura’s sister in the starring role. Right… outsiders, both of them. LOL.

Well, this could go on for pages, so I’ll just stop here and mention her symbolism is all over the platform. I mean, not as much as mine is, but… it’s there, if you know where to look.

Personally I liken the Marano sisters to Lily Collins.

I still to this day believe that Lily is probably related to Joan and Jackie Collins and perhaps even May Collins, the silent film star that almost married Charlie Chaplin. I think the whole “daughter of Phil Collins” schtick of hers is a ruse to distract from her real legacy.

And, TBH, I don’t think it impossible that “Charlie Chaplin” might have been a Collins himself, although I won’t get into why I think that right now, lol. But suffice to say- I have my evidence.

I guess the points I’m making here are these: 1) These girls that I date are not who they appear to be, even to me; 2) These relationships are at least partially arranged relationships / marriages; and 3) I’m not 100% certain of who is doing the arranging, at least not yet.

Yeah, woah, heavy stuff here.

I’ll need to expound on all of this a lot more, I guess. Wow.

Fascinating stuff.

Yet More Disney + Stuff, Part II

Monday, December 4th, 2023

Ummm….

Verrrry close and… um, wow. Well I need to think a few moments b4 bed, so- here goes.

I just saw the last episode of season 3 of Kim Possible and, most interestingly, the first of season four, for the first time.

Ok, well, so… yeah. I got the Kelli Berglund stuff, you know? The foreshadowing. Well- this is something I’ve been meaning to talk about I guess for awhile now and I probably should, if just to parse through things for myself, but… yeah, wow. Immediate and kinda sudden. Wow.

There’s gonna be a real tonal shift between season three and four here. Maybe I shouldn’t watch these in the background while doing other stuff, lol.

Ok.

Perhaps I’ve been holding back too much lately. Perhaps it’s time to cut lose and just… write, and act, unrestrained.

Perhaps.

I’ve been holding myself back in some ways for sooooooo long now.

Hmmn.

They’re right, though. Ron Stoppable, journaling his notes in his mind in bed at 3:10 AM? I mean, they were an hour off, since it’s 2:10 in Orlando instead of 1:10 here in Illinois, but still… it’s impressive, regardless.

Yeah, I get it, tho. I’ll need to study this last season, probably with the sharpest of fine-toothed combs.

I need to know. I mean I just have to.

And I can, and I will.

It’s amazing, isn’t it? All the great secrets of the world seem to be laid bare here, on… Disney+, of all platforms, in all places.

Gawd I just need to know. Tell me tell me tell me!!!!

Oof.

Well- KP is an amazing, amazing series. Fun, funny, smart and, IDK, lovely, lol, it’s got it all, right? Surely one of the all time great cartoons. I’ve learned a lot by watching this show. A lot. Wayyyy more than I would have by watching almost anything else in the history of television.

That’s it, then. I’m determined, this time. This time, I will write, here. I’m a man on a mission. A mission to… somewhere, not sure where yet, but wherever it is that I’m going, I’m determined to get there in style.

Ergo- the blogging. The writing, the thinking. The mulling and figuring, and ultimately the creation of a full understanding of the world, and of my place in it.

I gotta know, damn it!

Well… that’s enough Kim Possible, for now.

Remind me to write about the sequel of Little Mermaid, and it’s mind-boggling truths. As far as I know, nobody has ever seriously looked at this movie, in a serious kind of way. Seriously!

And since I’m uniquely positioned to look at it’s fullness, I think I can bring a little more light into the world by talking about it.

Minnie’s Bow-Toons, too. Amazing, amazing stuff on Disney+ for those with eyes to see.

————————-

P.S. And I caught the Miraculous foreshadowing, too.

See? I’m good.

————————-

P.P.S. Fifteen minutes off, actually.

Hmmn, oh man this is going to be fun.

Yet More Disney + Stuff

Wednesday, November 22nd, 2023

Uhm, wow, well, this’ll be a short one, but man, my uh, apparently continuing relationship with Mandy Moore sure has taken some… weird turns over the years.

Like- we went from that romantic relationship we had started back in my college years up to the Tangled stuff, and now I’m seeing her serenade me with her rendition of “Chugga-chugga, choo choo the Chugga-chugga choo choo train” on Sheriff Callie’s Wild West.

Wow.

Well, maybe some context would be useful here. Right now I’m sorting through some of the stuff in my drawers and I just needed something, you know, on the TV, so I picked Sheriff Callie’s Wild West, a Disney Jr. show about a precocious animated police cat who works as a sheriff in the wild west and what do you know- it stars Mandy Moore, of all people. So now I’m watching her dance around as a cat with a pink cowboy hat singing about “Choo-Choo trains” while I root through my old stuff.

Well… I mean, it’s not a bad show for the target demographic. I could see how kidlets might really like it. But the whole experience is kinda surreal.

I don’t think I’ll be going into the real origins of this character, at least for now, on account of me wanting to minimize the oddness of this. Besides, I have stuff to look through.

Maybe later, tho.

Yeah.
